Antique Scots Pine

Antique Scot’s Pine Flooring is reclaimed with its original surface wear and color undisturbed (top image). This flooring is thickness planed using the smooth top surface as a reference guide. Then, a new tongue and groove is milled on it. The result is an entire floor with authentic surface wear and color. As with all species of pines, the aging process is unique and quite beautiful. No other specie of wood ages quite like the pines. When sanded, Scots pine is very similar in appearance to other types of heart pine. Antique Scots Pine reveals honey and reddish tones blended with prominent grain and deep patina acquired over time. Known for its surprising strength, this softwood performs well underfoot and ages gracefully. Reclaimed from centuries-old structures, it offers solid decay resistance due to the dense heartwood. Having already adjusted to climate shifts, this pine is notably stable. Expect rich character—knot clusters, tool marks, and color variations. Its beauty lies in the contrast of vibrant growth rings and mellow aging, making it a rustic yet refined option for heritage-inspired spaces.
